Transgender Equality

The Transgender Equality Task Force (TETF) is committed to pushing for legislative and administrative action to ensure that transgender people are treated equally and with dignity and respect. This task force was first launched during the 114th Congress and was the first such task force created by the Caucus.

More than 160 House Democrats on Friday called for provisions related to LGBTQ service members and their dependents to be removed from Congress’s annual defense policy bill, arguing that the GOP-backed amendments discriminate against LGBTQ people and threaten military readiness and retention.
