Equality Caucus Remembers Pulse Nightclub, 9 Years Later
WASHINGTON, DC — In remembrance of the 49 lives taken at Pulse Nightclub, an LGBTQI+ club in Orlando, Florida, Rep. Mark Takano (CA-39), Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus, released the following statement:
“Tonight marks nine years since 49 innocent lives were stolen in a senseless act of depraved violence,” said Rep. Mark Takano, Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus. “The grief felt by families of the victims, by the city of Orlando, and by the LGBTQI+ community across the world remains indescribable. The Congressional Equality Caucus remains steadfast in our commitment to honoring the memories of those whose lives were cut short and ending the epidemic of anti-LGBTQI+ hate and violence so everyone is safe to live openly, authentically, and truthfully.”
