Equality Caucus Marks the Start of LGBTQI+ History Month

October 1, 2023

WASHINGTON, DC Today, the Congressional Equality Caucus celebrates the beginning of LGBTQI+ History Month. LGBTQI+ History Month is a month to celebrate the many aspects of the LGBTQI+ community that make our history unique – including people, culture, places, and moments in history.

"LGBTQI+ History Month is a celebration of our community and a time to reflect on how far we have come and how far we have to go," said Equality Caucus Chair Mark Pocan (WI-02). "Unfortunately, this year we have had to fight back as MAGA Republicans in Congress try to turn back the clock on the rights of LGBTQI+ people. Their extreme and harmful actions disproportionately impact our community. Now more than ever, we must defeat those efforts to drag us back in time and work to enshrine equality into law for future generations."
