Washington, D.C. – The Congressional LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus welcomed the Biden Administration's nomination of Gigi Sohn as an FCC Commissioner.
"The Equality Caucus is thrilled to see the announcement of the President's intent to nominate Gigi Sohn as a Commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission and we call on the Senate to confirm her as soon as possible," said Equality Caucus Chair David Cicilline (RI-01). "Gigi has been a tireless advocate for American consumers. She has a deep knowledge of competition, the information technology landscape, and a commitment to ensuring fair and equal access to communications technology. We are proud to note that if she is confirmed, Gigi will be the first openly LGBTQ Commissioner of the FCC."
