Congressional Equality Caucus Marks One Year Since Club Q Shooting
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Congressional Equality Caucus released the following statement on the first anniversary of the Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs.
"Today, we remember the tragic Club Q shooting and honor the lives and memories of the victims," said Equality Caucus Chair Mark Pocan (WI-02). "This day of remembrance reminds us of the history of violence our community, particularly the trans community, has endured. We must all stand united in solidarity against hatred and bigotry and take meaningful actions to address the violence and extremism plaguing our country."
On November 19th, 2022, on the eve of Transgender Day of Remembrance, a gunman opened fire at Club Q, an LGBTQI+ bar in Colorado Springs, Colorado, murdering five people and injuring 17 others.
